I have downloaded each of the three versions of iwebsites and tried using each of them without success. All I have managed to do is wipe out both my websites twice. Can someone explain where I am going wrong? I use iWeb 06 and I cannot get iwebsites to do anything but recognise the current site and then overwrite it with the new site, kind of like what happens if you don't use iwebsites at all and build successive sites in iWeb. So as you can see, iwebsites simply does nothing for me.
I am about to purchase a hammer to use on my computer or my head. Any suggestions? I would really like to be able to store more than one website on my computer and upload one website at a time from iweb.

I don't know much about hammers so I have no suggestion about which hammer is best to use sorry. But I think I would hammer the computer and not my head...

Using iWebSites

Open iWebSites and you get the list of your sites appearing under "All Sites"

Hit "New Site"

Select the site (it will be called "New Site" by default) and click Open

Now you will be working on the new site. If you want to work on the old site close iWeb, open iWebSites and from the list select the old site and hit "Open". Now you will be working on your old site. To switch back to the new one just close iWeb re-open iWebSites, select the new one and hit Open.

When you have the new one open you will not see the old one and viceversa if you have the old one open you will not see the new one. However they are still there. They didn't wipe-out. You just need to access them through iWebSites.

(I used iWebSites 2.4 and iWeb 1.0)

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure why but when i open iwebsites and click on one of the sites in the list it opens Finder and says I must choose an application to open the site with, but it won't let me click on iWeb. It is not active on the list. This seems to happen no matter what version I was using.

Go to your User Folder (or home folder, the one with your name and the little house icon)
Then go to Library
Application Support
iWeb
inside the iWeb folder there you will find a file (or more files) called Domain (maybe also with extension .sites or .sites2)
Select one and hit Command(Apple)+i
A window will appear where you have to go to "Open with" and there select "iWeb", if it doesn't show select "Other" and select iWeb. If you can't change "Enable: Recommended Applications" to "All applications"

Once you selected iWeb click "Change all" in the Info window.
