Looking for help. My original account is:
http://web.me.com/artpetrosemolo

It is active for my personal photography....

I have built a new site:
http://web.me.com/artpetrosemolo/
The_Monmouth_Boat_Club/MBC.html

which will become my boat club site November 1. I published it to my personal site to give some individuals a chance to view and review. I am ready now to BUY a new mobile.me account (I know I can continue to keep it on my personal site but there are REASONS to give it a separate URL.)

I keep separate domains for each site to work on them. I am having some difficulty getting my hands around the next step.

I have a separate sign on for the new web on my computer and I think I should purchase the new mobile me account from that site.

Then, I am confused on deleting the MBC site from my personal site......how do I get back to that original site.

Once I do that, I assume, I buy the new mobile.me account, and upload the MBC site from the computer sign on profile dedicated to same.

And, I think, if I keep domains SEPARATE .... when I work on them, they will upload to the proper mobile.me account.

Will this work?

Of course it will work.

The only thing you need to make sure having...

Two websites in
Two separate Domain files on
Two separate user accounts on your computer and
Publishing to two different MobileMe accounts

...is setting up the right MobileMe account in the System Preferences of the right User account on your computer which contains the website that goes to that MobileMe account.

If you meant to buy the MobileMe accounts from two different User accounts on the computer and then have the two Domain files on the same account, they will publish to the same MobileMe account unless you change it in your System Preferences (again that's when you keep the Domain files in the same user account on your computer, which I wouldn't recommend)

Regards,
Cédric

Cedric. I think I am getting closer. I have separate domains and keep them in a folder on a removable HD so I can use from any location. On my home computer, I understand, I will have two user accounts and purchase the 2nd mobile.me account for the boat club from the 2nd account. I understand I have to check system preferences for both accounts to be sure that the Iweb is publishing to the right mobile.me account. I get that.
When I am on the road and open the correct domain and publish...will it publish to the right mobile.me account or will I too have to set preferences. I am guessing it is in the sign in and sign out/user name that I would change where the domain uploads too.

Now, how do I get the MBC account OFF my personal account? When I open my personal domain, the second site is not there although it publishes to that personal account.

Thanks.

That's right, you will have to change the login data (username and password) in the System Preferences => .Mac when you're on the road.

You need to go into your iDisk=>Web=>Sites folder
Delete the index.html file
Delete the two Folders named with the name of the two sites
Go to iWeb and hit Publish all (from File menu)

If you can’t choose the iDisk to delete the files because you don’t see it go to Finder/Preferences/Sidebar and check the box near the iDisk

When you set up the other website to publish to the other MobileMe account and instead of publishing to the new account it still publishes to the old one

Make a Backup before going through that:

• Try deleting the .plist files

1. Quit iWeb
2. Find your "domain" file listed in
Macintosh HD/Users/Your username/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2
3. Control(ctrl) Click thus RightClick and select "Show Package Contents"
4. Trash the following six .plist files you find in the Package (trash only those six .plist files!):

assets.username.plist
hitCounters.username.plist
lastPublishedLinkBackPointers.plist
linkBackPointers.plist
localAssets.plist
sharedassets.plist

where username is my MobileMe username.
5. Open iWeb
6. Republish the whole site. In iWeb go to the File menu and select “Publish all” (the publish all is really important!) or publish to a folder if you’re a folder publisher

You may also want to consider upgrading to a FamilyAccount instead of buying a new single Account (in case you decide to publish a third website it will be cheaper)

Also change the permissions of the Domain files as of Note 1 on the Transfer website FAQ

iWebSites iWebSites iWebSites!!!

If you want to work on separate sites you shoould really try iWebSites availale here: http://mistergregg.com/cocoadrillosoftw ... page1.html

Its free and lets you build and manage unlimited sites. I don't used .mac (or .me). I have a hosting account and so I can have as many domains as I can afford. If you use the .mac then that's a separate issue.

Just be sure to READ and FOLLOW the instructions for iWebSites. But, really, its super simple and its completely free (you can make a donation).

Good luck.

I have a large site which I have split into 2, but under the same mobileme account. I am advised that I have now reached my max 60Gb storage capacity. How can I split the sites and have the maximum storage for both sites ?

The maximum storage has nothing to do with iWeb nor with the sites.

You reached the maximum storage of your MobileMe account. Once you reached the maximum storage of your MobileMe account all you can do is buy another MobileMe account.
