Hi there,

Whe creating a new page i understand that you have to write certain text in certain boxes for it to be indexed within google e.g. 'type a heading for the webpage here'.

Once ive created my welcome page should all other pages be created as welcome pages or should i just use a blank page?

The blank page doesnt have as many text boxes only the 'type a heading for your webpage here' no content of website etc..

Just not sure because when i search for my website in google i am getting random text from my webpages show up, just doesnt look very professional

any help would be great thanks

Hi,

whether you use Welcome pages or Blank pages or any other page doesn't make any difference at all.

The text displaying in Google is not random. Google takes the part of text of the page which it thinks is of interest to the user hence which matches the visitor's search the best.

Whether it looks professional or not to me really doesn't matter. Anyway if you really care about it you may want to add a meta description to each of your pages. This is not possible in iWeb itself. You would have to use an application called iWeb SEO Tool made by Rage. More in Chapter 6 here http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWeb_Google.html

Sorry to keep messaging, just want to try and get it right. Will it not affect the index page if i have lots of welcome pages?
