You have been so helpful so far and I am very grateful!

I am writing a book and want to distribute it via PDF file and paypal online. I want to do it through the exact type of system you have for the IWeb Ebook.

How do I set that up?

How do I set it up so a link automatically gets sent to the buyer once they pay for the ebook?
How do I set up a link that expires so they can only download the ebook once and the link will then disappear after a 24 hour period?

I want to make the whole system automated so I have to do as little as possible.

What is your advice?

Hi,

I would recommend you to use WordPress and the plugin I use for that. I think it's the easiest and best way to achieve what you want. More informations and instructions here: http://wpfaq.org/site/how-to-build-a-store/

Regards,
Cédric

I do not know how to use word press. Is it possible to do on iweb?

The only features I need are automated link sharing and expiring links.

And of course hot to automate the link being sent after the item is purchased through paypal.

Sounds easy, right? Well I don't think it is. If you find out how to do it please let me know.
If you don't want to use WordPress you may use a third party service like http://www.e-junkie.com

Cédric

On http://wpfaq.org you should find all you need to know to get your WordPress up and running the way you want. EBookStoreToday.com is entirely made in WordPress (no iWeb, no RapidWeaver, no PhpBB Forum).

I guess by domain you mean URL. In that case it would have been helpful if you would have told me what you want to achieve for me to tell you how to achieve the one you want among the hundreds of possibilities. URL settings in WordPress are under Settings, Permalinks. I usually choose Custom and type

/%postname%/

into the field. So the URL of a post on my WordPress will look like
http://yourdomain.com.org/folder/TitleOfPostOrPage/
this is assuming you uploaded a folder containing the WordPress. If you have only one page it may also look like http://yourdomain.com.org/folder/ for example http://yourdomain.com.org/store/ if you set the page to be the one which loads first (Settings, Reading)

Regards,
Cédric

Hey Cedric. so I have decided to go by wordpress and start learning that system, as I think it is more powerful and more organized than iweb. When will the wordpress pdf be available for download again? I need it!! Anyway I love your stuff, it has inspired me to do a bunch of different things and create some business for myself!

Good choice about WordPress. I recently updated the books about iWeb, RapidWeaver, am now working on the How to write an E-Book E-Book and then finally the book about WordPress. Estimated Time of Arrival is two weeks but I will try to send you a copy earlier.

Regards,
Cédric

That would be great.

Question about the estore Pluggin. I have currently placed a tester on my website for a digital download of an ebook. I bought the book through the site, went through paypal, but then was never directed to the link or got the link in an email.

Any advice?

you can go to www.hungrylunchbox.com/wordpress - then go to the Agent Contact Sheet - I placed the price at $.01 so I can test it before i launch the website to the public. I am going back now to rework the product in the pluggin. not sure where i went wrong. thanks

How does the buyer receive the encripted link? this is where i'm having the problem. so the test product I am selling for $.01 is located @ www.hungrylunchbox.com/09211984/TEST.zip and when you enter that into the address bar it downloads onto a computer immediately. (so I know that is set up correctly)
Although after purchase the item on the website http://hungrylunchbox.com/wordpress/?page_id=119 and click the "add to cart" then "check out using paypal" on the right hand side, after i enter all the payment details I never get an link with the download. Why is this?

Is there a way to get rid of the side bar (Check out using paypal)?

Now i understand why ppl pay others to do all this for them. I am really happy i'm learning it all, and it's great once i figure out a procedure and know how to do it right! Thanks Again.
