I recently created a website which teaches you how to jailbreak and gives you some good tips related to your iDevice.

Here it is http://www.JailbreakZeit.com

I'm having two problems with it:

1) If, for example I wanted to link a friend the page on how to jailbreak their iPhone, I would navigate to the iPhone page and copy and paste the URL which is http://www.jailbreakzeit.com/JailbreakZeit/iPhone.html

But I want it just to say http://www.jailbreakzeit.com/iPhone.html (that is, without the /JailbreakZeit bit in the middle.

This is the title of the website in my iWeb application but I don't want it showing. How can i get rid of the /JailbreakZeit bit?

2) The page doesn't seem to load very quickly compared to other websites.

In order to try and make it load faster, I've copied all the shapes on the page (that is the navigation bar, the blue circles etc.) and compressed them in photoshop and then reimported them.
I've read that adding borders to shapes/images makes iWeb make 4 separate images, so i've also exported all the shapes/images with borders, saved them as .pngs and then reimported them so they only count as one image.
And lastly, I've compressed most of the screenshots.

What else can I do?

Thanks for reading this :)

Hi,

1) The only way to get rid of the sitename part is to publish the website to a folder first and then upload only the content of the folder with the name of your site (not the entire folder, just its content) to your server using an FTP application like Cyberduck. This results in the URL you want: http://www.yourdomain.com/pagename.html
hence without the sitename part.

2) Personally I don't experience the site to be slower than average. You may want to try to reduce the number of files or upload the site to another server. Or you could try to see using Safari's Window=>Activity window whether there's a particular file which slows down the entire page load.

Regards,
Cédric

Thanks a lot for this tip, I will certainly try it! Oh and thanks for testing the load time, it's good to hear :)
