hi there - just got your ebook and was very glad to find it. I am trying to put a few auto advancing slideshows with links and text descriptions on my home page (http://maxedwards.info) but am having no luck. The snippet is in the top right corner. I can view the source code when its loaded in safari.

my suspicion is that the directory in my godaddy hosting account is a little disorganized. I have gone through the code many times to make sure everything is in the correct order and case sensitive but getting no luck when I publish and load the site.

Your help is greatly appreciated, cheers,

max

Hi Max,

on this line:

["http://maxedwards.info/__/Home_files/school/home_school_3.jpg", "http://maxedwards.info/__/school", "_top", "Pt. Bonita Bifurcation - plan and elevation],

You forgot to close the quotes after "elevation" so it should read

["http://maxedwards.info/__/Home_files/school/home_school_3.jpg", "http://maxedwards.info/__/school", "_top", "Pt. Bonita Bifurcation - plan and elevation"],

Regards,
Cédric

another question for you - I am really hoping to get the slide show not to have any border around it - is that possible?

Where do you see a border? You may be looking for this (quote from the E-Book)

Quote:
When the slideshow loads it first appears as a black rectangle. If you want to change that color open the fadeslideshow.js file in TextWrangler, search for these lines:

setting.$gallerylayers=$('<div class="gallerylayer"></div><div class="gallerylayer"></div>') //two stacked DIVs to display the actual slide ! .css({position:'absolute', left:0, top:0, width:'100%', height:'100%', background:'black'})

and change black to whatever color you want.
