Not totally sure this is the right category for this question so my apologies if this belongs somewhere else.

I make my changes to my site in iweb,
I save it to a local folder,
I run massreplaceit to install my code for my favicon,
I open SEO tools and open my site from the folder,
I hit re-apply saved tags.

I have done this about 15 times, and it keeps putting back alternate image tags for my shapes etc. and Google is indexing these useless tags. I go through and delete all the ones I don't want like shapeimage_15, shapeimage_16 etc. and then I save and apply, then upload the site.

Why do my alternate image tags, the ones I don't want to be indexed by Google keep coming back every time I run the SEO tool?

It's a pain having to go through and delete all the ones I don't want every time I want to republish.

iWeb per se leaves the alt tags for shapeimages empty. If anything appears after using the SEO Tool it must be added by the SEO Tool. Personally I never used it.

Anyway you could use MassReplaceIt search alt="shapeimage" replace with nothing. But sincerely I wouldn't mind about shapeimage alt tags. I doubt a lot of people search for shapeimage. And if it's tehre but no one looks for it it's just like they wouldn't be there or am I wrong?

I have fixed it since then by manually deleting the shapeimage and menu bar tags everytime I publish. It's kind of odd though, cause it seems like when I run the SEO tool the shapeimage tags are usually only there when I hit reapply tags? As soon as I open the site the tags it gives look good. Maybe I should stop hitting reapply?
