Thanks Cedric for offering so much info on this website, without it I would never have attempted building my own website.

That being said, maybe I shouldn't have anyway, lol. Please take a look at my new website and tell me if you think its okay or just a mess. BE BRUTALLY HONEST PLEASE!

Few things I'm concerned with are:
- is my home page too long?
- are multiple fonts confusing?
- banner too large, menu buttons too small?
- do the pictures seem misleading? Someone told me it looks like advertisements which are not necessary because people are already on my site. I didn't think of them as advertisements, just something to look at instead of just sentences....?

edit: It would make a big difference if you could Google my site!!

Thanks for looking! http://www.mosherfire.com

I like it. Your long home page is fine because you have a lot to say. To me it seems authoritative. None of your concerns bother me. Nice layout and overall design. Your website is an advertisement, hopefully one that people will seek out and enjoy, so don't be shy. The photos aren't misleading. They're informative and like you said, nice to look at.

Take a look at your site on Internet Explorer. You might be having trouble with the picture and weather widget on the home page. I wouldn't be surprised if there are other issues, too. Brace yourself. One thing to think about is that different browsers display your text differently. So if your text goes all the way to the end of the textbox, IE and other browsers can push it past the end of the box so the end of your text disappears. I always leave a buffer of a few carriage returns at the end to keep that from happening. Check on that.

Wow, thanks for the opinions and tips. Very helpful and encouraging. I will check things out with IE as you said, I did not think about that before..

BTW, I clicked on the link in your post and it did not work. Probably a typo because it worked fine when I typed it in manually and through Google. Just thought I'd mention in case that is your signature on all posts.

Your site is very well done! I like everything about it and especially the Yellow Submarine. Quite the performers!!

Cheers

To TCB:

I did a search for "flowers in Louisville KY" and looked through 54 pages and you weren't there :(

Just a thought but maybe you should get some friends to keep searching different terms closer that include your site name and such to increase your Google rankings. I'll try a couple different searches for you and see if I can help. If your on facebook you could always ask people to do the same on your "status" line.

edit:
"flower farm in Kentucky" ranked #6 - great
"pottery in Bonnieville Kentucky" your on page 5 - not too bad, amazingly nice pottery btw
