Hey again Cedric,

New day...new question:) Is there a more faster possibility to edit a site with iWeb that is on another server, then every time that I edit the news (for e.g) to open iWeb - write/delete/add text - then publish to a folder and then publish to the server and then make it public? Or is there an alternative like the .mac iWeb sites to just edit them and directly be published with the modifications done?

Regards,
Cri00

From iweb you will have to publish the whole website, it's not possibloe to publish only changed pages to folder.
But you don't need to upload the whole website to your server via FTP application. Have a look at Chapter 3.1 of the Publishing to folder, FTP, Hosting FAQ.

Reagrds,
Cédric

Hi Cedric,

once again thanks for all the knowledge you share with us.

I've read over your FAQs and I'm currently publishing to a folder, then running iTweak, then running WebCrusher, and uploading via Cyberduck. The initial upload went well and I was able to synchronize a couple times no problem. But, then I tried to synchronize another time and it keeps telling me "Trasnfer incomplete." I then deleted everything and uploaded the entire folder again, and that upload was successful. Then I tried to synchronize again, and it keeps telling me that the transfer is incomplete.

I keep doing the same procedure:
1. Publish to folder
2. Run iTweak
3. Run WebCrusher
4. Synchronize via Cyberduck
Result: Transfer incomplete

Any ideas as to why this might be? I made sure it is on "Upload," as your FAQ indicates.

Help would be highly appreciated in this matter... :)

Thank you,

Vanessa

Cedric,

after I found the following:
"It is really confusing when Cyberduck successfully completes a sync then reports transfer incomplete. This is great software and I love it but that bit has thrown me for a loop. Can't it report that it successfully uploaded all changed files instead of reporting that the transfer was incomplete? "
I figured that was what was happening in my case. It says the transfer is incomplete but when you look at the website, the changes did take effect...

Thank you anyways,

Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,

since about six months I experience the same "problem". "Problem" in quotes because it isn't a problem at all.

Even if Cyberduck tells you that the transfer is incomplete it uploads everything. Hence the transfer is complete even if Cyberduck tells you it isn't (really!).

Simply ignore the message.

Regards,
Cédric
