After a crash and restore of my system, my iWeb and Multisite programs no longer point to the current web sites. They are all there in folders on my hard drive, but when I run the iWeb software it looks at files that are three months old.

In reviewing advice I have attempted to find and modify the sites files, but in the user library under applications support there is no iWeb file and no domain.sites2 or even just domain files to modify. I'm not sure where they all have disappeared, but they are not there.

I can see the multisite file data.mfi file but can not see any folders and cannot open it with anything other than the multisite application.

Can anyone help please? I would like to simply recover the current files in site folders on my hard drive but cannot seem to get iWeb or Multiweb to find them.

Thanks.

I don't know why you did post a question into the "Your tips and tricks" section of the forum. A question about the Backup and retrieve FAQ needs to be posted into the Backup and retrieve section of the forum!

Anyway...

To find a Domain file it's best to use a freeware application called Find File since Spotlight doesn't search everywhere. Once you downloaded and installed the application type ".sites" (without quotes) into the search field of Find File and it will list all the Domain files on your computer.

If you restored the whole system and the files are three months old to me it means that you restored from a three month old backup. Which means that all the newer stuff is gone.

Regards,
Cédric
