I would like to have a facebook share button on this page http://eileencooleyphd.com/e1/Childrens_Book.html that would pick up the book picture and some text. Your book has been a great help but I can’t seem to do it. HTML Snippet picks up the text, depending on the browser I may get select thumbnail but it will not let me do it. Using Alternative HTML I can upload a facebook share image so MassReplaceIt and Cyberduck work correctly.

<img src="http://eileencooleyphd.com/media/fbshare1.jpeg" style="width:57px; height:18px;">

When I try it with the following code from your E-book without facebook image the bottom half of page goes blank. Thanks for any suggestions I am a novice but having fun and learning day by day .

<script>function fbs_click() {u=location.href;t=document.title;window.open('http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php? u='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&t='+encodeURIComponent(t),'sharer','toolbar=0,status=0,width=626,height=436');return false;}</ script><a href="http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=<url>" onclick="return fbs_click()" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a>

Hi,

using the code I provide in my E-Book with ALternative HTML the page doesn't go blank to me. So for me it works, sorry.

<script>function fbs_click() {u=location.href;t=document.title;window.open('http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&t='+encodeURIComponent(t),'sharer','toolbar=0,status=0,width=626,height=436');return false;}</script><a href="http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=<url>" onclick="return fbs_click()" target="_blank"><img src="http://eileencooleyphd.com/media/fbshare1.jpeg" style="width:57px; height:18px;"></a>

To me it was going blank when using the code which was provided by Facebook itself which however I can't find anymore and it looks like Facebook eliminated when they introduced the LIke button.

You could use an HTML Snippet with

<a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u= http://eileencooleyphd.com/e1/Childrens_Book.html" target="blank"><img src="http://eileencooleyphd.com/media/fbshare1.jpeg" style="width:57px; height:18px;"></a>

The issue with the thumbnail and description not being picked up by Facebook in iWeb created websites has already been pointed out more than six months ago as you can see on my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2 ... opic=16992 and so far neither me nor anyone else seems to have found a solution to the problem (as far as I know).

Regards,
Cédric
