Cedric,

Problem: cannot get a slideshow to self-start.

Background: I built a slideshow in iPhoto. Moved it to FlashAlbumExporter with AutoViewer style (also tried other styles). Published it with FAE into a folder. Moved the folder to my HE server (inside my domain.com folder). Moved an HTML snippet into my iWeb page, copied the iframe code from iWeb FAQ iFrames et al, Chap 1, and modified the code to reference my site on the server.

Result: The slideshow works fine (scrolling="auto" or "yes"), but only when I start it by clicking on the arrow. However, my goal is for the slideshow to begin automatically when the user first sees the page. Will this iPhoto album/FAE/iWeb snippet approach work or do I need to do something else?

Appreciate your great help to date in getting my website launched. I just sent you a little money, and the confirmation msg indicates that it went to Mattias Giger. Is that the correct confirmation msg?

Thanks,
Paul Roberts

The slideshow in question is at the bottom of the screen (church choir).

Hi Paul,

I don't see any slideshow sorry.

What slideshow were you trying to embed and have starting automatically? AutoViewer?

If so you need the PRO version (45$) to have it playing automatically as far as I know. You would have to find playAtStart in the code. Per default it is set to "false" and you would have to change it to "true" to have the slideshow playing automatically.

Regards,
Cédric

Cedric,

Sorry my previous post did not permit you to see the problem. Fixed now.

http://www.live-music-augusta.com/Workplace.html

I'm looking for a way to have my slide show start when the page appears without the viewer having to click the start arrow. The example (church choir pics) is an album created in iPhoto, exported with FAE (AutoViewer), and uploaded to the server (within the live-music-augusta.com folder). The appropriate reference was imbedded into the Workplace page with an iFrame snippet (scrolling="auto").

You mentioned in your previous post that I need to use the Pro version. Do you mean iPhoto Pro? If so, is that as reliable a product as iPhoto? Have you used it?

Thanks for your expert help.

Paul Roberts

Good evening Paul,

Unfortunately the free version of the slideshow you're currently using doesn't include an auto-play or auto-start feature. To have the slideshow playing without people having to click on start you need to buy the PRO version of the AutoViewer slideshow
http://simpleviewer.net/autoviewer/pro/
which costs 45$ and I never tried it. Anyway the PRO version is more difficult to use than the one you use now since you would probably have to manually create the gallery. There is no plugin for iPhoto for the PRO version of the slideshow as the one you're using now for the free version.

I hope this helped,
Cédric

(PS: As far as I know there's no iPhoto PRO)
