The layout of this FAQ website adjust the page to fit the browser window, i.e, when I reduce the browser window (e.g., by using the mouse) the width of the page content reduces until some limit.

By using iweb08, I was able to implement only webpages with a fixed width of the page content. Please, I need further information on this subject.

with best regards
Alessandro Jacoud

Hi Alessandro,

the iWebFAQ.org website has a fixed width of 900px and doesn't adapt when you reduce the browser window. The only thing that adapts is what iWeb calls "Browser Background" but not the content of the page.

The forum of the website (the one you're reading now) adapts to the size of the window but it is not made with iWeb, it's a PhpBB Forum.

Regards,
Cédric

Hi Cédric,

thanks for the prompt reply. Is that possible to adapt the size of the window (as this website forum or, for instance, as in the google website) by using the iWeb08 (or 09) ?

Regards,
Alessandro

Unfortuantely it's not possible in iWeb no (neither with iWeb '08 nor with iWeb '09). However I would recommend you to set the Content Width in the Inspector to 900px, maximum 950-980 px.

Most of the websites nowadays are fixed width (even Apple's site is, Facebook, ...). Also most of the WordPress themes are fixed width.

Regards,
Cédric

Fixed width sounds ok to me. Is is not an important issue.
Now, I feel more comfortable to work on fixed width website.
Thank one again.

Alessandro
