Hi,
I have made my website in iWeb 09. It is the white theme and I'm using the standard Nav menu bar and also gallery page. FYI - I haven't published the site yet, I am just viewing it off my hard drive.
The issue I have is Google's Chrome browser version 5 (the latest)(on Windows and Mac) is behaving just like IE in regards to javascript components, ie. my nav menu bar and gallery. JavaScript is enabled in the preferences of all browsers.
Strangely enough, Chrome 4 works fine. I also tried WebCrusher, and there was no change, except the end result was actually completely unreadable in IE. This is the same for iWebFAQ.org
In Chrome 5, there is supposed to be a black dot where it can't load the JavaScript properly (this happens on iWebFAQ.org) but this doesn't happen on my website. A friend of mine suggested that maybe the frame dimensions aren't defined, so the menu bar is there, just outside the frame (like a mask) and off in space.
UPDATE: strangely enough, this website works fine in Chrome 5
http://web.me.com/petber/iWeb_tips/iWeb ... _iWeb.htmlI'm thinking since a large percentage of my site's traffic is non-tech savvy IE users, I will unfortunately have to downgrade the menu bar to just links with a similar font, but I really like the gallery the way it is.
I've also found now that my Nav menu bar is temperamental in Firefox as well :-/ (not the same for iWebFAQ.org)
So what I want to know is:
Do 100% of iWeb made websites mess up in IE and Chrome 5?
Does anyone know anything about anchoring/defining the dimensions of the javascript frames for menu bar and gallery?
Are people experiencing the same thing with their iWeb websites?
I will put the site up soon, and then I will link it here. Also, if you would like screenshots, just let me know.
Thanks
