G'day folks,

I have made up a website that I want to upload to my server and previously have had success using "FileZilla" to upload the "published to file" to the server.

Now I am not sure if it is me that is doing something wrong or the software but while all the "pages" of the website are uploading there is a menu bar that it is leaving out once uploaded to the server.

The published file on my computer shows the website perfectly but on the web it leaves out the menu.

The web adress is http://www.vvvineyard.com.au

If you look at the site at the top there is a horizontal white line, above this should be a series of headings that link to the rest of the webpage...

e.g "Our Vines" should be listed which should link to this page:
http://www.vvvineyard.com.au/Valley_Vie ... Vines.html

I have put all the website files under the public/html directory but the pages just seem to leave out the headings/links.

Is this an issue with iweb or my loading of it to the server with FileZilla??

The following images are of what is happening:

And how it should be:

All the files are deffinatley uploaded to the server. I logged into my online console to check and they show on there aswell.

Here are some screen shots showing the directory's both locally and on the server.

The directory on my computer (local):

The directory on the server is shown on the right hand side. This is a screenshot from "File Zilla".

I really don't understand why this won't work. I found some posts on the web saying people have had similar issues but none of them posted how they fixed it.

I had a look through the stuff on this website (iWeb FAQ) but other than the info regarding "scripts" and "feed" files....there didnt seem to be anything else to check.
As you can see from the screen shots I linked about both of those files are there.

I can't seem to find any other info on this anywhere else on the web.

Any help anyone is able to through my way would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Pok

P.S I am running MacOS 10.6.1 and iWeb '09 3.0.1. Server is on Cove.

When visiting your website the feed.xml file doesn't get loaded (Safari=>Window=>Activity loading your website there's no trace of feed.xml if you visit my iwebfaq.org website the feed.xml appears). I don't know why that happens but it happens.

What I would recommend you to do is... (make sure to follow all the steps)

1. Delete the website files from your server
2. iWeb => Publish All (from File menu)
3. Upload your website using Cyberduck instead of FileZilla
http://cyberduck.ch/
Make sure to get version 3.3b4 (not the 3.2.1 version since that one doesn't work with Mac OS 10.6, the newer one does)

I've seen this kind of problems and similar problems getting solved when people used another FTP application than the one they were using until then. Not all FTP applications work the way they are supposed to. I never experienced problems with Cyberduck.

Regards,
Cédric

G'day iWebFAQ,

I tried what you suggested. I did:

- Deleted current files on the server using "FileZilla"...after this the website was instantly offline. so this worked
- Published the "entire" site to a new local folder from iWeb
- Downloaded and installed Cyber duck
- Uploaded the entire site using Cyberduck

The same problem is persisting though. There were some files that did not want to upload...but these were jpg images and also the "google map" that I had on part of my page.

The following is a screen shot of the directories on the server as per Cyber Duck after the upload. As you can see the feed.xml file is there.

Cheers, Pok

EDIT:....ok so I have sort of worked out what is causing the problem. The two scripts files are not uploading correctly. With both FileZilla and Cyberduck they seem to time out and not upload. I tested the website without these files on my local version and bingo when I remove the files the menus dissappear, when I return them the website goes back to normal.

So i tried uploading the two files seperatley using both FileZilla and also Cyberduck with no luck...they start to upload but the whole file doesnt make it up. I logged into my online control panel for my site and did the same thing, uploaded the files manually and while they seemed to upload fine the website still will not function properly.

So I'm still at ends of how to fix this.

EDIT #2: The following error came up when trying to upload the scripts alone with cyberduck
http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/3553/errordu.jpg

I think this is causing only part of the file to upload

I never experienced Cyberduck not uploading a file and I use Cyberduck since 2-3 years now. I experience Cyberduck telling "upload not complete" but in fact it is completed when Cyberduck tells so...

You didn't see the menu at first because your browser cached (memorized) the website.

Maybe it's your hosting (server) which causes problems, seems to be a little slow to me.

Regards,
Cédric
