I'm going a bit nuts trying to help out my wife. She has a domain with bulkregister.com and I just created a website for her. I've looked up and down and can't seem to find a way to forward and mask her site.

I have a .mac account set up with my personal domain (my main website). I have a second website that is currently being masked through godaddy.com. It was easy to set that one up.

I looked at the Personal Domain page of this site, and I found something that may help me out, www.zoneedit.com. Free webforwarding, nice! But going through the screens, I'm lost.

I don't want to do anything that will mess up my main personal domain site, my 2nd masked website and my wifes soon-to-be masked website.

Where do I need to go to set up forward and masking for her site on zoneedit?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

first thing to do is Signup with zoneedit, and Add a Zone, change the DNS servers of the domain at the domain registrar
(Until here it should be described in detail on the Personal domain FAQ)

Login to ZoneEdit and click on you're wife's domain and you should get to this page:

Click on WebForward in the top menu

Now you see this:

Write www in the fist field and the url of the site you want to forward it to in the second field http://web.mac.com/username/NameOfWifeSite/ and check the box if you want it cloaked (I wouldn't)

Now click the first Yes here

Finished.

I hope that helped.

Don't fear about messing up your other domains. As you don't change anything in their control panal and don't change anything at MobileMe there's no chance they get messed up.

Regards,
Cédric

Hi,

Just followed the instructions of "Wie funktionieren persönliche Domains, wie yourdomain.com? Wie bekomme ich eine Persönliche Domain? Bekomme ich auch E-mail Adressen?", chapter 3, as I have a registered .ch domain.

However, I am totally lost with zoneedit.com; especially as the pictures above are not shown properly. How to configure zoneedit (I have opened an account already)? Probable zoneedit has reworked its page in the meantime… Any alternatives?

Any help is really appreciated
Phil

zoneedit changed everything and I never got it to work since.

You could try
http://www.everydns.com/
look at the ns you have to enter at your registrar found on that page.
Instructions for setting up the CNAME
http://www.dyndns.com/support/kb/record ... nameanchor

I never used it since I don't own a .ch domain anymore so I don't know whether it works or not nor can I try it.

Regards,
Cédric
