Unsuccessful FTP Transfers to Yahoo

I've created a website using iweb - SBC Small Business is my web host. I have tried iweb and Cyberduck unsuccessfully to FTP website to Yahoo. The transfer always drops - "times out" - when the transfer is nearly complete. The website I am trying to upload is fairly simple. It consists of 5-6 pages consisting of text, pictures, and a link to a web site. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? Could it be my internet service - too slow? or can it be Yahoo? Thank You

Hi Rick,

I don't think it is your connection being too slow. I keep having issues with my Yahoo mailbox so between the two I would say it's more possible that yahoo has serious problems with their servers. I personally prefer using hostings (real hostings) instead of services like Google/Yahoo to store my websites.

I have never hosted a website on Yahoo hence I don't know how it works.

Maybe there's something wrong with the settings

ftp.yourdomain.com
username: your Yahoo ID (with or without @yahoo.whatever? try both...)
password: your password

one more thing you could try is More options=>Connect mode Active/Passive

I'm glad you solved it Rick.

I usually recommend people to use a proper webhosting because it's easier to contact their technical support (by phone 24h, e-mail, opening a ticket, ...) if you run into problems like the one you experienced. That's the only reason... I don't know whether Yahoo or Google offer this kind of support on their hostings but I fear they don't.
