Hi Céderic!
Thanks for constantly working on your page and adding new hints!
I'm newly experiencing a problem I can't find the answer to in your FAQ.
Using iWeb09 I'm publishing with the integrated FTP server to my personal domain, hosted by GoDaddy. This worked well for some months now.
Recently I created a second site for my birthday party, which I published via MobileMe, made private. Still, my primary site was working perfectly.
Since the party is over now, I deleted this second site today, moving only one page of it to my personal domain-site (hidden in the navigation bar). After saving those changes and publishing my primary site, I constantly get the error message: "Account Error: Missing Locator." I noted, there the site name appeared added to my URL after a slash. When I delete this to get only my URL, I'am prompted to enter a user name and password. It says: "The user name or password you entered for area “me.com” on www.gestalterleben.de:80 was incorrect. Make sure you’re entering them correctly, and then try again." The user name appearing in the window below this message is the name I had used for the transitorily existing, second site which I had made private, yet, the original password does not work anymore. - Above all, I do not wish to make my personal domain private at all and I do not want to publish to the area "me.com"!
I tried several times and also restarted iWeb inbetween. Also, I meanwhile deleted the originally MobileMe-published page from my primary site.
Phenomenologically, somehow the password information entered for the MobileMe publishing is stuck in my iWeb although I want to continue to use external hosting by GoDaddy. Rien ne va plus. Can you please help me out here?
Thanks a lot!
Sofie Hofer

Hi Sofie,

at the end of the post you mention publishing to GoDaddy so I'm not really sure whether you want to publish to MobileMe or GoDaddy. Anyway what I would try to do is... (following all the steps in this order)
1) Apply password protect to the site and choose Publish Entire Site from File menu publishing to MobileMe
2) Deactivate password protect and choose Publish Entire Site publishing to MobileMe. After this you shouldn't have password protect anymore
3) If you wanted to publish to GoDaddy I would then change the settings after following 1) and 2) to publish to GoDaddy then again Publish Entire Site. Or even publish to a folder and then upload to Cyberduck.

Hope it helps,
Cédric

Hi Cédric,
thank you for your reply!Yyes, in fact I'm trying to publish to GoDaddy.
I executed steps 1-3 you suggested, but unfortunately I'm still receiving the message quoted above: "Account Error: Missing Locator." when trying to visit my published site.
And when entering my domainname directly, I'm prompted for a password (although I deleted it and switched to non-private mode in step 2).
Publishing to a folder and subsequently uploading to Cyberduck I found that there was an "assets...plist" file listed within my sites, which I deleted and then deleted all my files from cyberduck and uploaded the relevant files (my site-folder and the index.html) again. Unforunately this does not work either (same result).
Do you have any other suggestions?
THANKS A LOT!
Sofie

If you're publishing to GoDaddy and added the appropriate server settings in iWeb and publishing works you should change the settings of the www.gestalterleben.de domain. www.gestalterleben.de still points to MobileMe but if you publish to GoDaddy it should point to GoDaddy.

Hi Céderic!
Thank you very much for your help - once again!
In fact, following your hint concerning the domain pointing to MobileME I contacted GoDaddy meanwhile and solved the problem by deleting the A host and reentering the same IP address it pointed to before...I really don't understand why this works but it does and my site is online again!
Greetings from Heidelberg,
Sofie
