I have been publishing a site with iWeb since it first came out, and have started a second (same domain file) recently, and have recently had a new issue appear.

Both are using "blog" templates where I have entries that are automatically reflected with portions of the entry on a main page. Suddenly, without any purposeful changes on my part that I am aware of, the font for all links on the main page (when working in iWeb) have changed, as well as the font color and font size. This occurred in both of my sites within that domain file.

Oddly, this impacts only the appearance in iWeb. Publishing continues to occur with the old settings... so the page appears with my old intended settings when viewed in browsers. Odd.

I thought it might be a corrupt font, but Font Book does not show any issues. I've also restarted the computer, repaired it, etc.

http://www.visualrealia.com
also http://www.visualrealia.com/VR_Photowal ... dates.html

When you look at the main page, each entry's title is a larger text size and grey. In iWeb, it is a smaller text size and the links are blue. (But links behave as intended in the individual entry pages.) I am unable to change any of the text or hyperlink characteristics on this main page.

Just a further note, I used Time Machine to restore the domain file to a point prior to the problem, and interestingly, the problem did NOT go away. I should also mention that I did try deleting the iWeb pref file, and that also did not resolve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,

sorry I have no clue about what happened and how this could be solved.

Especially because it is happening in iWeb itself. If it were changing on the web then you would Empty the cache of the browser, reload the page and it should display the way it should.
But I can't figure out how it's possible that it changed in iWeb but looks good when published...

Did you also try repairing permissions along with deleting the prefs?

1. Go to Applications/Utilities
2. Open Disk Utility
3. Click Macintosh HD
4. Click on Verify Disk Permissions
5. Click Repair Disk Permissions.

Shouldn't help but I don't know and it can't hurt either.

Or (be sure to have a backup before doing this one!):

• Try deleting the .plist files

1. Quit iWeb
2. Find your "domain" file listed in
Macintosh HD/Users/Your username/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2
3. Control(ctrl) Click thus RightClick and select "Show Package Contents"
4. Trash the following six .plist files you find in the Package (trash only those six .plist files!):

assets.username.plist
hitCounters.username.plist
lastPublishedLinkBackPointers.plist
linkBackPointers.plist
localAssets.plist
sharedassets.plist

where username is my .mac username.
5. Open iWeb
After that you will have to republish the whole site (in iWeb go to the File menu and select “Publish all” the publish all is really important!) or publish to a folder if you’re a folder publisher

However if you restored a domain file previous to the error and the error is still there where it wasn't before then I think something's wrong with the Application iWeb itself and in this case maybe a reinstall would help (I hope).

You can't change the links or text characteristics in the Main Blog page because there is no way to do it (at least not in iWeb itself, of course one could do that by editing a css or html file somewhere) thus that's the way it's intended to be and the way it is for everybody.

Regards,
Cédric

All good ideas worth trying.

Repaired permissions, tried ditching the application prefs again, ditched the plist files, reinstalled the app, etc., still no go. I also verified fonts and even tried switching my font in the entries.

Argh.

Not the end of the world; more a hassle. Because the fonts appear incorrectly (too small) in iWeb, the page renders in browsers at a different size. I have to guess how much extra space to leave blank before my footer items, or they will overlap with the blog summaries.

Regardless, I appreciate your help. I've also posted to the Apple forums and send a bug report to Apple.

Thanks,
Andy

I was crossing my fingers... no go.

Thanks for your ideas and efforts, though.
