Can't get MassReplaceIt to replace Page Titles

I have been using MassReplaceIt to help build my 09 iWeb site and its really good at replacing code. I followed the set up you suggested for finding page code and replacing it by using the find/replace in MRI. I set the mask to - File ends with '.html'.

Now I want use MRI to replace each page title (I have 32). I'm doing this for improved SEO. I noticed your pages all have unique title on the tabs. This also replaces the generic iWeb page name on the tab from "home" to "My Site Name | Home" . Much better.

I set up MRI and iWeb to replace my page titles in the following way- here are the results:
1. made a text code on each iweb page that is unique like "HomeTitleGoesHere" "AboutTitleGoesHere" etc
2. set up saved query in MRI for each page (32)
3. pointed Find in MRI to look for: "HomeTitleGoesHere"
4. placed new title to Replace in MRI: <title>My Site Name | Home</title> Another title ex: <title>My Site Name | About</title> etc
5. ran MRI and this added the Title information to the <body> section as a div and did not replace the title in the <head> section
6. after publishing MRI replaced the page code box "HomeTitleGoesHere" with the new title code "My Site Name | Home". But not in the tabs, on the actual page! I can now see the titles on each page of the site where the code box was. Obviously not what I wanted.

Should I change the Mask settings so MRI searches the page files differently? Is there another way?

also have a look at page 44 of the E-Book "How do I define what displays as the header at the top of the browser window?"

Anyway if you want to change it in MassReplaceIt because you deleted the TextBox by accident or so in each page published from iWeb if you open the page in TextWrangler you should find a line looking like this

Code:

<title>Blank page or whatever the title may be which shows up in the tab currently</title>

so instead of adding a TextBox to each page with a code in it and replace it you should copy the title line of the page and replace it with the title line you want to display instead.
