Cedric,

Hello, great forum!

I was using iweb 08, switched to 09 cause I thought i'd solve my problem. It did not.
Anyway, I have put together several websites "trafficlime.com" being just one of them.

I am using hostgator as my host provider. I also tried justhost to see if it would make a
difference. Basically it did not.

When I go to visit my website(s) at my sisters house (she has a satellite internet connection
with hughes net), the page SOMETIMES does not load completely, especially when I clear my
cache and web history (as if I we're a first time visitor). Sometimes it takes 1 to many times of
reloading the page before it fills in complete.

I have not experienced this with any other connection.
Here's the the thing though; this never happens with any other website I have ever been to
using my sisters internet connection. NEVER.

I am worried that there are going to be too many others attempting to visit my site from
these kinds of connections....

Here are the facts:

1. It does it using Firefox and Safari NOT Internet Explorer (even using dial up with I.E.).
2. My less complicated websites (approx 200 kb's and less) seem to load ok (trafficlime is approx 440 kb's).
3. Did not matter if I was using hostgator and justhost as my server.
4. Videos served from my server or another (youtube) seem to always load fine.
5. Paypal components sometimes don't load.
6. Usually it's the images that won't load completely. But sometimes the text won't either. OR sometimes most all of the page including background does not load.

Please help!

Thanx,

Dean

Hi Dean,

I don't know.

Satellite internet connections are generally known as being slow and not very reliable and not so wide spread.

Anyway it may also depend on her system setup: Processor? Memory? Windows? What version? Service packs? And whatever there is for those machines...

Have you tried optimizing your website to have it loading faster? Maybe it solves the issue...

Cedric,

Thanx for the prompt response. I tried WebCrusher and the other one to no avail. In fact they seemed to make it worse.
Definitely reduced the size of my web pages, but the problem persists.

I could care less if it's a problem with our satelite reception or modem or ????
My only concern is that it would be a wide spread problem and many others
would have the same issues.

Again, any other website I visit does not do this AT ALL. But of those i've
visited I have no idea if any we're made with iweb. This could be the common
denominator.

Thanx again Cedric,

Very appreciative,

Dean

I have no clue. It's more than three years I work on this website and never heard of this problem before. Hence certainly no major issue.
