Hello and here is my problem..

I have two different websites with two different domain names.. I created and uploaded (published) one of them, made changes to it for days and worked fine.. Then registered a different website with go daddy again and started creating and uploading (publishing) those pages to the server.. However I didn't notice it until this morning that when I published one website it also updated all the content to the other one as well.. The last website updated and published was only visible for both websites (contents were identical).
Then I found your website and looked for an answer. I read it that if I create a copy of my domain.sites file I could probably solve this issue by deleting a project from iWeb then open the other domain file and deleting the other iWeb project.. So I did make a backup of the .sites file by copying it and pulled the original to the desktop. I had a domain copy.sites in the folder. However, when I click on that and open up iWeb it wants me to start from scratch.. No previous projects showing up.. nothing.. So I go back to the .sites file and look into it's contents and there I see all the files (from thumbnails to sub folders everything).. and I see two files one of them regarding one website and the other file about the other website (assets...url ...plist and the same extension with the other url name in the middle).

I would like to restore my projects in iWeb and hopefully manage to the websites so I don't update both website each time I publish the changes that I made to only one of the projects..

Thanks for your time..
Dan

Hi Dan,

close iWeb and download iWebDrop from this page:
http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWeb_Troubleshoot.html
then drag&drop the Domain file you want to open into iWebDrop.

Regards,
Cédric

Thanks Cedric, the iWebDrop app helped to recover my projects..

Now onto my #2 issue. I use the latest iWeb software iWeb '11. I have read through iwebfaq.org trying to find the best answer for how to update and publish my web sited ONE AT A TIME. For now, I have both projects on the left side when I open iWeb and when I make changes to and publish one of them, the other webpage gets updated, with the information of the updated web page's. I host at Godaddy and there are two different domain names.
If this issue has been addressed before, could you past the link in here please! I'm kind of lost!

Thanks again and keep up with the good work!

Dan

There is no iWeb '11.

The latest version is iWeb '09 also iWeb 3.0.4.

iWeb=>About iWeb to see what version you're using.

iWeb 3 does not publish all sites at the same time. It only publishes one site at the time.
If you experience iWeb 3 publishing two sites at once my bet would be that you're using iWeb 2.x
If you experience iWeb 3 publishing a site to a wrong domain my bet would be that you entered the wrong information in the publishing settings.

If none of these is true for you then I can't help you.

Regards,
Cédric

Sorry, it was my mistake. I do have the latest iWeb though, the 3.0.4 version. I just double checked it.
In the Publishing area I have both projects selected with ftp.The site names are different. Contact emails (unnecessary to fill out I know but I have typed in different ones anyways).
In the FTP Server Settings I have different ftp server names typed, ftp.danielxxx.net and ftp.alohaxxx.com (xxx is not related to sexual content here..).. Username is the same for both and so is the password.
Directory/Path is left blank butt does the same thing even with a "/" typed in...They both use the same protocol (ftp) and the same, automatically assigned Port (21).
Website URL area. The domain names are typed in each one with it's own settings..

I just updated alohaxxx.com website and published it. the url will appear as http://alohaxxx.com/Alohaxxx/Welcome.html
Then I type in my other website's url and get this: http://danielxxx.net/Alohaxxx/Welcome.html

When I update and publish danielxxx.net I see this url: http://danielxxx.net/danielxxx/Welcome.html
The Alohaxxx.com url in this case is as follows:http://Alohaxxx.net/danielxxx/Welcome.html

The two web sited are used with the same design (template- freestyle). They both have similar menu buttons and similar content. As I have mentioned they are on the same server (godaddy.com), One domain is about 2 years old (Alohaxxx) the other one is new. Obviously, this issue happened first when I purchased the new (danielxxx.net) domain and started uploading the changes..

I bet it's an easy fix. At least I hope so.. I have run out of ideas that's the only reason I'm writing here.

Didn't mean to look stupid with the iWeb '11 thing, I am, too new to Macintosh and everything it comes with. I think there's iLife'11 and I got simply confused with that..

Thanks for your time and hopefully you see what might be wrong on this end..

Dan
