hi cedric,

would you be so kind and reveal how you got the 'credit card and bank account' access for the paypal donation button on your website. i suppose, you went through an US paypal account. am i right?
paypal.de doesn't provide extended access for 'credit card and bank account' with their buttons so far.

thanks for the information
glorian

Hi Glorian,

I have a Swiss PayPal account (not US).
I used the German version as well some time ago and you're right in the fact that it's different and there are no credit card fields to fill in on the forst page. I think on the german version there's a link at the bottom-left of the page for the people who don't own a PayPal account but no one sees that link and it's a little unclear how it works (that's why I dropped it and use the english version all over the website). Also the button doesn't show the credit card underneath it.

As previously told I have a Swiss account and what I did is that I changed the language of the account to English
Profile=>More=>Language preference
which (if my memory sill works fine) gives you the look I have on my site: enter credit-cards info on the first page and credit cards showing up on the button. If you just want to have the credit cards showing up on the button you could download the image with credit cards and enter the url to the image when you're building the button but then people wouldn't see where to type in the info since the german version has only the link which no one sees.

To me it's best to change the language of the account.

Regards,
Cédric

hi cédric,

thanks for your quick reply and for all the interesting variety of useful information for iWebbers and RapidWeavers. yes, i figured out that you have a swiss account. and paypal.ch also allows credit card payments. unfortunately, paypal.de has not updated to this mode yet, and there is no tiny link at all for non-paypal customers. "unfortunately" i have a german account. hope paypal changes this soon.

ok, i already found the choice for language preferences. and, if you don't want to change your profile language here at Profile=>More=>Language preference, there is still the possibility to use different languages on the buttons from within the button building application.

regards,
glorian
