My question is that I really would like that it would be possible to create 1 basic page, so that the other pages don't have to reload again, but that you can make some kind of basic-page who is always the same and only have to load once.

It would make the website load really faster.

Hi Soes,

I'm sorry I think I misunderstood your question last time. The German thing explains how to build your own theme which wouldn't help anything for what you want to do.

What you want zo do is currently not possible in iWeb. iWeb always publishes the theme for each page whther you made the theme or bot.

I wish it would publish the theme's files only once for all too. It would indeed make loading times much faster. RapidWeaver works like this. It's great.

I hope they will change that in the next version too.

Regards,
Cédric

Can't wait for the next release. My list:

- standard menus, toolbars, and features across iWork and iWeb apps, such as picture frames, spell checker, language support, grouping, page guides, etc. Silly that i have to do so many things in Keynote and paste into iWeb
- "Paste as Image" in Edit menu (for pasting directly from Keynote/Pages)
- crop masked images to optimize, slice images
- IE, Firefox, etc. compatibility mode or pre-flight check
- .htaccess page password management, or some other directory/page-level authentication
- page titles separate from page names
- nesting of webpages inside of iWeb to organize better
- mark files as up-to-date to avoid uploading entire site in some cases
- ability for multiple people to publish and synch to same server
- publish to email

That being said, iWeb is great and the productivity gain far outweighs the flexibility of hand written code. There are so many great 3rd-party services out there, such as wufoo.com, that there is really no need to do it all within your own page - unless you're fortune 1000 or something like that. Great forum Cédric, thanks!

I'd like the possibility to import a new image using the style (border, shadow...) of an old one, such as in PowerPoint® or Flash®.

1. Automatic Zoom in / Zoom out like in Fancyzoom, but without coding

2. Automatic duplicating in the like apple themes (photo album, podcast, etc) of own designs I created myself.

3. Drag and drop files (sites) into i web for folders.

I don't think anyone has suggested this (unless I missed it - in which case sorry!) and that surprises me!

The number 1 feature I'd really really like to see in the next version would be the ability to add a blog entry remotely. Whether that be by logging into MobileMe or from an iPhone / iPad app like the wordpress app.

I don't want to have to play around with wordpress work-arounds and I don't want to carry a MacBook etc around on holiday!

I was really disappointed last night, when I watched the Apple keynote on the launch of iLife '11 etc to see that iWeb hasn't been updated at all - just iphoto, iMovie and GarageBand!

For iWeb Blogs,
I would like to see a different archive format. The existing one is arduous if not impossible for someone searching older posts unless they know exactly what it is called or the date.

Suggestion: look at Googles e blogger; posts are automatically grouped and appear in months and years as opposed to one long stream.

Wendy

Better compatibility with Flash Catalyst created SWF files. Sounds work fine with Flash Pro SWF files but not Catalyst.
