The TextBox is not appearing in some random place, it is appearing in the exact center (vertically and horizontally) of the iWeb window/displaying page. I agree with you that it would be better if it appeared near the cursor.

HTML snippets are great for ease of use, but they stink because the HTML is put in a separate file, thus, the actual page may have the snippet positioned incorrectly. It is beyond frustrating to have to re-position HTML images or snippets after publishing. Apple, figure out how to cut the HTML into the same page at the same position and this will solve the problem and HTML snippets will be the thing of beauty they are meant to be.

Ditto on the ability to enter keywords and meta language on each page.

"This Page Last Updated.." button.

-ability to change the yellow rollover caption box to something other than the file extension
-changing the font, color & size of the standard nav bar
-option to add a mobile browser detection script? maybe that's far fetched..
-more detailed/noticeable news feed description on facebook page when publishing site

these are just a few of the frustrations i had while creating my website-- www.eastlakestudio.com

can anyone with a pc, running IE7 & 8 give me some brief feedback on the loading times, and the overall look of the site?? i haven't had much access to a pc to check this out yet.. i'd be curious to know about the front page image & design>choose any project>additional images (do the slideshows and thumbnails work ok??) how's the contact page map?

thanks in advance! :D

Please provide for grouping of objects so that they can be locked together as one object. This facilitates moving things around..]

Maybe some of the actions can be done by iWeb (somehow) but these are the things that could be improved:

I would like a way so the web-site visitors could add pictures on the gallery them self.

Like in previous posts, i would like a way to write meta tag's, descriptions and keywords directly from iWeb.

A better way to change the font, color and size of the text in the RSS Feed box.

A way to rotate embees's like the countdown and so on.

Fix the problem, when makeing a text as hyperlink, then rotateing it, the rollover is in boxes not compleet (aswell when the text is in two rows)

A better nav. bar and a little nav. bar at the bottom.

Again posted previously but the inspector should be somewhere (like in the bottom or eaven better, on the right side) in a fixed posittion.

Being able to rotate an image from the corner of the image.

An integration with Google Analytics and other cool Google stuff.

Being able to resize the width of the iWeb page and makeing the Page Background transparrant so if i add a picture into the Browser Background, it can be seen overall, or the way around.

Maybe a Master Page with the default settings one can edit a nav. bar, page illustrations, collors and so on. So they will be implemented on ALL the 20-40 other pages on my site. So if i want to change the whole page into a christmassy page, i'll just shange the background pic. and the color.

PS. Actually i dont hate iWeb and i dont complain that mutch. Actually i LOVE it :) but these things are the little and medium size problems i have with it.

Yes, all the above stuff plus:
  • fix Shadows implementation on rotated/non square objects
  • make Email Me editable
  • fix mobileme servers so they are indexed by google automatically
  • make it easier to assign multiple domain names to any site in the domain.sites2 list
  • already said, but to emphasize, we need comments on any page without having to host on mobileme, in fact, remove all those silly restrictions
  • make it easy to have multiple domain.sites files open without having to use Cedric's workaround
  • Be able to do a global search and replace on pages in the domains.sites2
  • more cool templates
  • implement a fix for IE6 PNG fiasco, or for any other older browsers that mess that up
Sorry if I duplicated wishes, cheers!

What I really would like in the next iWeb...

It would be great if you could make some kind of basic page (of your own). Some kind of template, which appears on every page, so that the website doesn't have to load all over again every time you click on a page.
I never use the iWeb-templates, because I design every website myself, so I always start with an empty white page.

And it would be nice if it was possible to lock items!

Hi Soes,
if you're from the Netherlands you may speak or understand German (or both) and if you do so you may want to have a look at this
http://issuu.com/iwebmagazin/docs/iwebmagazin_001 (page 30)
http://issuu.com/iwebmagazin/docs/iwebmagazin_002 (page16)
which shows a further method of building your own theme.

I never tried it but maybe it's closer to what you want to do.

Regards,
Cédric

I'm so sorry, but my German is terrible.
There is no such site in English?
