Below is my site. One of the first things I read is to ask yourself the question, "What is the purpose of the site?" I don't have an answer, so let's skip that.

I looked at some sites of the month listed on my host. I especially liked the simple, fairly stark black on white ones as you can see. I have nothing against color but I will restrict that to photos, news, etc.

Because I want to have a blog, I got the WordpressFAQ ebook, thank you. It looks like it will be quite a bit harder than the iWeb. I don't have them linked both ways, yet.

I still have to get rid of the iWeb inbuilt navigation and put my own up there. Thanks to the iWeb ebook, it's easy. The only thing the ebook doesn't do is make me a fast-moving, un-lazy person. Maybe next upgrade . . . :)

Looks nice! I like the white too.

Now, a few suggestions:

1. Clean up the homepage. I hate to say it, but it seems a little messy. Get a general layout in mind, where everything is on a virtual "grid". Maybe try using less pictures, with one taking the spotlight and some smaller ones along the side. Then again, you can do it however you want, being that designing a website is really an art.
2. Talk a little more about playing the 5 and 7 string fiddles. As a fellow fiddle player, I had never even heard of those before and it really got me to think.
3. On the Violins, Ect page, the Little Fiddle gallery is typed with a capital I, so it currently reads LIttle fiddle.

Everything else I really like about it!

Thank you, Anson. The value of having other eyes look: I thought my homepage was anything but messy. I had cleaned it to white and black and white, plenty of space, etc.

Now, yes, you're right. It is messy, since you point it out. All of a sudden I look at it with different eyes. I like your suggestion of a main photo and smaller, fewer photos around. The scrolliness did bother me a little with the page so big.

I hope to have the other instrument introduction pages (the electrics) up sooner than later, as well as video and/or audio samples.

Thank you for your input,
Tom
