iWebFAQ.org E-Book, How to easily get more out of iWeb

Posted by Cédric

iWeb is really easy to use but per se it is also pretty limited. Some people may want you to believe you can’t achieve certain effects in iWeb and without any technical knowledge.

My very own mission and the goal of this E-Book is not to tell you how iWeb works. That’s pretty easy and doesn’t need many explanations. My very own mission and the goal of this E-Book is to show you what you can do in iWeb in addition to the obvious things. Explain in plain English without using unnecessary technical jargon how to achieve the effect you want in steps which are simple to follow even with no technical knowledge. In other words the goal is to provide you the tools to easily get more out of iWeb.

In this E-Book I re-wrote most of the FAQs you find on my website making them cleaner, easier to read and understand. It is providing more detailed explanations and it’s more illustrated than the website. The result is that the E-Book is even better and more user-friendly than the website.

In addition to the content of the website the iWebFAQ.org eBook also includes: Anchors (links to specific spot on a page), Accordion menu, Auto-Scrolling text and images, Auto-Fading text, Auto-Fading photos slideshow, Disable right-click, Tooltips (yellow text boxes which appear when you put the mouse pointer over a link), How to build a store like http://iwebfaq.org/e-books/, The best way to integrate iWeb and WordPress, Google search box for your website (Search within your own site), How to protect your website from being hacked, and more… which are not discussed on the website.

The book will also save you a lot of time since you don’t have to spend your time searching for a solution on Google and figure out how it works anymore. It’s all there. And if it isn’t you could suggest me to include a chapter about it in a future update.

But when I saw the iWebFaq.org website and the precious tips you gave to iweb users, I didn’t hesitate one second. Simply put, it’s a wealth of information that will certainly save you hours on the phone with Apple support. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. The iWebFAQ.org eBook is a MUST HAVE!

    Hi Brian,

as written on the website you should have received an e-mail reading “Thank you and download links” in the subject.
On that e-mail you find the link where you can download the E-Book. SImply click on it and the download will start automatically.

    Cédric

is it possible to have the book in italian language?

  • Cédric says:

    HI Salvatore,

Currently I have no plans on translating the E-Book into Italian. Too much work/time and too few people that would buy it. Maybe I will be doing a reduced copy in Italian and German containing only the tutorials which aren’t part of the website.

    Saluti,
    Cédric

  • John Lincoln says:

As previously, the new version of your book is very impressive. Thorough, thoughtful, and seemingly complete.

Your book could be published in the series of books “The Missing Manual”.

  • kelly says:

Thanks Cedric, very useful ebook, it has saved me a few hours of surfing and messing around trying to find a few answers I was looking for. Very much appreciated.

  • Ashley says:

The tips you give online are always the best, and I really want to purchase this book. HOWEVER – we only have iWeb 06. Are the “tips” and “tricks” in your book for newer versions of iWeb?

    *Hi Ashley,

thank you for your interest in my E-Book.

The book is written for iWeb ‘09 nevertheless everything described in the book works with iWeb ‘06 too. Just remember that iWeb ‘06 has no HTML Snippets so if you want to add HTML code in iWeb ‘06 and the book says to use HTML Snippets use what I call Alternative HTML (MassReplaceIt) instead
    http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWeb_Alternative_HTML.html
Even if I have iWeb ‘09 I always use Alternative HTML. I barely ever use HTML Snippets. I don’t like HTML Snippets. I think that’s all you have to take into account.

    Have a nice day,
    Cédric*

  • Eric Lawson says:

I have only spent 15 minutes browsing Cedrics book but already I have $15 worth of very usable code. I primarily use Dreamweaver but really like iWeb’s ease of use. Now that I will be able to access many more features, I can deliver those “smaller” low budget jobs much easier. Thanks.
